...Actually, I have a proposal if you might be interested. Something I was discussing with Arkady.

Alright. What is it?

I want to make a therapy centre, to add onto the infirmary. Whenever we have that proposed meeting, I was planning to bring it up, but I wanted to have it fully formulated before I did.

The point of it would be that some people would have options to go to after traumatic floods. A calming voice to talk to, a reassuring cup of tea, advice on how to get out of a damaging warden and inmate pairing. And if someone needs some manner of mood stabilizing medication that would be available in their universe should they leave, we can decide upon that as well.

With only two people, it'll be difficult but doable because we really must be able to speak with a party that's as neutral as possible. It's impossible for me to propose alone. With a few or even several? Completely manageable.

...I know with your recent difficulties, debating bureaucracy isn't one of your strong suits. Neither is it mine. But giving people health and comfort was what was most important, and I have full confidence that we can learn from our former mistakes and use them to assist others.

I think that creating that is the best idea that I've heard in a while. I worry that I'm not a trained therapist, though. I worry that I might make things worse.

[But she had been trying to do it since she'd been here.]

It's funny you mention this, because Sev things I should act as a personal doctor to people. I'm just worried about the state of the infirmary that people would be in when everyone leaves. Doctor Cesaeres is fine, but he's from so long ago and he's acting like he's attempting to take over and I'm not comfortable with it.

Doctor, do you think the infirmary is making me miserable and short tempered?

There are many therapists on help lines that are only volunteers with no formal education. Just someone that someone can talk to, and has been there with that sort of unease and pain. But if you're concerned, I would understand.

[He pauses as he tries to think of the right question, since most of her ill-temper he doesn't see. Being that he can have quite the ill-temper of his own.]

Honestly, how much do you dread discussions about the infirmary any more as compared to how you used to feel about it?

It's worse than having exams and peer review and the later version of you all on me at once, actually.

I'm trying to figure out how much of that is my pride and my anger for the months when I was the only doctor before these blokes have tried to push me out.

I'm not that troublesome, am I? -Wait, of course I am.

Pride is never valuable at the expense of happiness. It seems obvious to say, but harder to wrap one's mind around.

You were a bit git-like when you saw me at UNIT, despite the fact that you were the one who placed me there.

And Sev noticed enough to say something to me. Which is dumb because of course he would notice.

I've always been hit and miss with UNIT. It was a bit like my "Barge" when I was more prone to reveries in velvet. I couldn't leave until I'd managed proving myself.

So I read when I joined up.

I met Jo once you know. She doesn't remember it, but I did.

Wasn't she wonderful? I always thought she was.

She definitely was. Mad as a hatter, but wonderful nonetheless. I found her in Africa of all places.

You're right about that. I suppose we'll have to tell Omega what Rassilon said, at least to get his side of the story.

I think unfortunately this is the point where I do need to stop meddling. I've handed off the necessary information to Rassilon's warden and declared my inability to help to Rassilon. That's... all I can do, I'm afraid. [Because he knows him.]

If it's Rassilon, I may make you feel worse. He's really quite the pitiable old fool. What has occurred that has you so enthusiastically redecorating your rooms?

[Nggg, a little bit of guilt. Because he likes talking to Braxiatel. He makes him feel better when he's getting angry. And he's calming down a bit now.

Ungh. But he needs someone to talk to.]

He is. He feels that any change is completely unnecessary and these lesser beings are deserving of absolutely no respect. And is furthermore convinced he'll be swept away to Gallifrey from this place to begin his rule again.

Does he? How disappointing. I can only be grateful it is a delusion. I've tried so hard not to get involved with Rassilon, and I would hate to break my own resolve and give him permanent brain damage rather than let him go back.

[He somehow wasn't expecting that. He was just plotting to break him up with Omega and needed people to talk him out of it.] No, that certainly would be an inconvenience to everyone.

Yes, somebody would eventually be able to fix it. [Braxiatel feels terrible about many of the things he has done and does not bring them up lightly. This would not be one of those things.] It won't happen. Is there any particular reason it concerns you?

Because it was my meddling that got me here.

I wanted to encourage him to feel something for someone again. I was hoping I could reignite those passions that he had in the revolution, rather than what he became. So I pointed out to him that Omega reciprocated his emotions.

Now he hides behind Omega's ankles every time he harms someone. Narvin's suffered for it and I'm fairly certain continues to suffer for it. He's threatening to kill his new warden for disobedience when they've only just met. And he's positive all he has to do is learn how to save Gallifrey and like that, he and Omega will depart this place in loving bliss.

I'm partially responsible for this. I believe I'm just as mad at myself than anyone else, even if he made the decisions that led here. Poor Rose... all that time, all that tireless work and ridicule and dedication...

She didn't stand a chance.

[For once, Dallas doesn't take his time. He's pretty punctual, arriving at the CES about three minutes after the Doctor's last message. This does sound interesting, after all. Chaos and destruction is what Dally lives for.]

Oh. That sounds most unsafe. Why do you do this thing?

Well, I haven't meddled yet. And it's been quite a while since I last meddled, so I think I'll give it a go!
