[The Doctor faces the camera of his journal towards himself with a determined, serious expression. He holds up one finger.]

I've got quite a bit on my mind, and I'd prefer not to lose my temper... however-

[He turns it away, to show his TARDIS painted pink.]

I know the old girl wouldn't choose to do this to herself! Who's responsible?! Someone must be, because usually I can simply move into the vortex with her and when she returns her appearance is restored from whatever graffiti and defacement has occurred. This has been positively impossible to remove.

Oh, I don't know. It's a good color on her. Why not keep it?

It's not a paint job.

[He sets up the journal so the camera is still going, and then wanders off. He comes back, swipes an "X" in white paint across her doors, and then gets inside.

Vworp vworp vworp. Gone.

Vworp vworp vworp. Back.

The X is no longer on the door. But the TARDIS is still pink. He steps out and sees this, and throws down his hat with all the irritation of Curly Howard in a mood.]

I can't imagine what would have made her take a sudden fancy to another colour! I know she's uncomfortable! She's saying so. [But only uncomfortable as someone would be in a dress too high cut for their liking, or their hair a smidge too long.]

It's not the most nefarious scheme someone on the Barge has ever concocted but the way incidents seem to go these are usually a symptom of something larger.

She likes blue. She thinks pink gives people the wrong impression about her.

Well. It's not a slutty red or a macho orange. Pink is right between innocence and love. No wrong impression there at all.

So... you don't have, like... magical space alien giant box paint?

The last time she was pink, she was surrounded by fear. She was in a place that was filled with things meant to be delightful, and they painted her pink as part of their theme. Anyone who wasn't happy, they murdered.

She's a little hesitant about the hue now.

I know, that's what's got me so confused. Why would someone do something so patently stupid?

She broke her circuitry that allows her to be "painted" when I was on Earth for some time. Though I'm somewhat certain that she- [Wait.]

When did you wake up?

...Not so long ago. [Or like two days ago.]

I've offended more than one person, but... very well, I suppose I would rather them alter the colouration of the TARDIS than inflict violence upon my person. I suppose I do have my preferences as far as vengeance goes.

[But he looks at the TARDIS and looks... 'whiny' is perhaps the most applicable term.]

I suppose we all probably do.

So, uh, do you think you can fix it? [She's really sorry about your blue box thing, though it's kind of tough for her to convey anything other than vague annoyance and exhaustion right now.]

Good, I'm glad you're up....

And will be more glad when this box isn't distracting me.

[He has to ask though, so he can know how much to tell him about his meeting Narvin.] How well did you sleep?

Possibly, if I discover what's wrong with it.

[Why is everyone so tired? He's been resting perfectly.] Are you feeling well?

Well, I hope you can figure it out. Let me know if I can help with cleanup, or anything.

Also, I'll check the art room first thing tomorrow, see if any paint is missing.

[She looks at him strangely then.] I haven't been sleeping well, lately. A lot of us haven't, I think.

Kind of weird, actually. Like, crazy dreams, lately, I guess. I didn't... wake up in a flood or anything, right?

[Dreams?] No. No flood was announced. I'd heard one mentioned [by Hoffman, don't say Hoffman.] but come to think of it there was no announcement nor even a jostle.

I suppose I ought to be glad I don't require that much sleep.

Have you been having bad dreams? Or 'crazy' ones, as Mr. Pinkman described it.

'Crazy', might be a good way to describe them. Dreams that aren't like what I usually experience, at all.

I'm affected by floods so infrequently anymore that I barely noticed.

What's different in particular about them?

Yeah, well, after what happened back in October, forgive me if I don't necessarily put that much, like, stock in what that douchebag Admiral's got to say about it.

Whatever, it's probably nothing, though. They're not even bad, just... weird. Barge folks showing up and things like that. A couple of them have been kind of nice. [The way he says that sort of hints that that, in itself, is unusual. He doesn't dream much anymore, but when he does, it's not so nice.] From what I can remember about it, at least.

Maybe it's a new, you know. [Sobriety.] Thing.
