[The Doctor faces the camera of his journal towards himself with a determined, serious expression. He holds up one finger.]

I've got quite a bit on my mind, and I'd prefer not to lose my temper... however-

[He turns it away, to show his TARDIS painted pink.]

I know the old girl wouldn't choose to do this to herself! Who's responsible?! Someone must be, because usually I can simply move into the vortex with her and when she returns her appearance is restored from whatever graffiti and defacement has occurred. This has been positively impossible to remove.

I've offended more than one person, but... very well, I suppose I would rather them alter the colouration of the TARDIS than inflict violence upon my person. I suppose I do have my preferences as far as vengeance goes.

[But he looks at the TARDIS and looks... 'whiny' is perhaps the most applicable term.]

I suppose we all probably do.

So, uh, do you think you can fix it? [She's really sorry about your blue box thing, though it's kind of tough for her to convey anything other than vague annoyance and exhaustion right now.]

Possibly, if I discover what's wrong with it.

[Why is everyone so tired? He's been resting perfectly.] Are you feeling well?

Well, I hope you can figure it out. Let me know if I can help with cleanup, or anything.

Also, I'll check the art room first thing tomorrow, see if any paint is missing.

[She looks at him strangely then.] I haven't been sleeping well, lately. A lot of us haven't, I think.

I suppose I ought to be glad I don't require that much sleep.

Have you been having bad dreams? Or 'crazy' ones, as Mr. Pinkman described it.

'Crazy', might be a good way to describe them. Dreams that aren't like what I usually experience, at all.

I'm affected by floods so infrequently anymore that I barely noticed.

What's different in particular about them?

I'm usually a lucid dreamer. But lately, I haven't been. Even when I'm aware I'm dreaming... I can't change things.

Does it still feel like a dream as you're having it? Or is it more akin to reality?

If anything, they've been more dream-like than usual for me.

But... I have kind of a weird relationship with dreams.

I've had a strange one myself. What are the circumstances for you?

[She hesitates. This... is something she's taken care to keep close to her chest, the whole time she's been here. Maybe she's overly-cautious, but she'd rather be that, than too free with the information.

Still, she's beginning to think she might need to trust some people with it.]

In my universe, there's... technology. It allows people to share dreams. Manipulate them.

Is that safe or-

[He can tell there are some seriously dangerous implications there.]

Not entirely. [It's not entirely legal, either, but she's not saying that. Not yet.]

But nowadays, I'm really good at knowing when I'm in a dream. [It's called having a totem.]

And your awareness has changed somewhat?

I've a bit of experience with dreams myself, so this is very interesting.

Yeah. I mean, once I learned to recognize when I'm in a dream.

And there are ways to know if you're in someone else's dream, too.

Such as what? [This is a problem he's not had, not being human.]

Well, we call them totems. [She digs her bishop out of her pocket to show it to him.] I've altered it, so only I know exactly how much it weighs in my hand. If I'm in someone else's dream, if it's there at all, it'll be wrong.

That's actually a brilliant idea. [Though he has no idea what he'd use, besides his umbrella. That might work. There are enough odd little additions only he would know.]

Oh, but perhaps that wouldn't work quite so well with me. [He's frowning thoughtfully.] We're a psychic race. If I were already that deeply connected with someone on a dream level, I could pass along an idea quite easily.

Ah, yeah that... I've only ever done it with... regular humans. I'm not sure how it might work with a psychic.

[She thinks about that for a moment.] Actually, do you think it would be possible for a psychic link to allow people to share a dream?

Of course. It's how Time Lords do it, though typically humans aren't psychically advanced enough to maintain that sort of connection with each other.

Could such a connection be maintained by someone else, who did have the ability?

They most assuredly could. When Frostmourne was unleashed over a year ago, all of the psychic's felt its affects. So it could be a person or an item.
