It's been a long time since I've been well equipped to advise people in matters of love. I swore it off for the good of anyone I might become attached to. For the very good of the universe.

So I was wondering what your last experience was in having feelings for two people. [Why is he asking himself this? His perspective changes per regeneration. He doesn't remember like he used to.] No insinuations of anything physical. Heavens no. Just ah... I'm curious about the experience.

I can imagine not. So the detriments, they weren't worth quietly being with both of them. Even if you weren't committed to either?

I wouldn't say that. Basically, I had a crush on one basically since I was a kid, but she was a little older than me and didn't return the feelings. A couple years later, I met this other girl, we fell in love, almost got married, but everything kind of fell apart and she broke it off. A while later, the other girl and I started dating, but Kory and I still worked together, and we were still friends. Sometimes it was sort of hard, because I'll always care about her, but she still brings up our history and sort of carries a torch, I just... don't really feel the same way? And didn't when I was with Barbara.

I'm not seeing either of them right now, but I'm still friends with both of them, and it can be a little awkward, but we're all mature enough to respect each other's feelings about the whole thing.

So... you were, afterwards, able to reconcile and remain friends with both of them? Did it take a while?

... Sort of. The relationships didn't actually overlap, so there was a lot of time in between, but I wasn't not speaking to one or both of them after the romantic part of the relationship was over.
