He's hesitant because he knows what's been going on, and there's some potentially terrible things that he could be admitting about himself right now. So he's going to try really hard not to!] Harper! [And a pause. Okay! Let's go with-] I know how to play the spoons!

He sighs in relief.] I was worried for a moment that I was going to say something considerably worse! [He ignores the mongoose considering a voyage down his pullover.] Such as the fact I know I'm the most problematic, repugnant, and unpleasant of the lot of me and I'd been better off not even having gone through this regeneration.

[Wait.] Ignore that bit. [He makes a pissy huff and cuts the feed.]

It's not his looks I don't like.

You may be all those things you said, but I think when you've been here, you've been honest. That's valuable. Even if you don't tell people everything about you, you tell them what you know about what happens here. That isn't--what words did you use? Repugnant or problematic. The truth is sometimes unpleasant if one doesn't wish to hear it. That is hardly your fault.

[And Tim is right on his way, because dealing with non-family family seems like a really good idea right now, so it isn't very long at all before he's tapping on the Doctor's door.]

Sigh. [He says "sigh", the weirdo.] The worst of all my sins.

[By laughing in a man's face as he makes him destroy his own planet!] I suppose it might be slightly redeeming.

It's very redeeming. I can't play the spoons. If I were repugnant, there would be no hope for me.

[EEEE! Oh heavens!] Ah... thank you. Quite ah... kind observation there. [Even if it, like Narvin's, almost proves his point.] Which person? I talk about a lot of people. [Nervous clearing of throat.]

You shouldn't be so insecure. Your next regeneration is far worse. [He raises an eyebrow.] The one who has feelings for me, of course.

I can't truly judge how 'problematic, repugnant and unpleasant' you are but I will say this, you hold yourself to a higher standard that you do the rest of us. I suppose the only true neutral judgement would be an Eternal, which we either don't have or it's the Admiral, the Admiral decided you are a warden.

After all, it wasn't as if he couldn't slip you away as an inmate, given his own rules.

[Argh! Omega! It takes all of his strength not to facepalm right there on the camera.] I suppose I must have misjudged. [He gives him a quiet, well-schooled smile far from his manic grin when he's putting on a show.]

[Frown.] How do you come to that conclusion?

Maybe he knows the reason I want to help people. And I try harder on individuals than I've ever tried before. I'm surprised that I wasn't an inmate, in some cases.

...You know, not everyone has the opportunity to be with someone they cared about long ago.

If I tell you you'll just get mad and won't believe me, and I don't want you to get mad. [His turn to pout.]

[Squinty look] You don't seem very repugnant, no. So I suppose you've quite a bit of hope to go on.

[The Doctor only gets an amused smile for that.] Now, why would I get mad at you? Surely it cannot be that terrible.

[Pause. His Doctor developed a bit of a complex about it. Stupid overactive guilt.] I imagine so.

[Guardedly.] Right.

[The pout continues. Pout!] I suppose I believed that Omega cared for you as more than a friend. [Fffft. Why are Time Lords full of denial!

Shut up, Valeyard! You're not part of this conversation either!]

I suppose I caused a decent amount of embarrassment for us both.

[This Doctor's complex nearly got him devoured by the Scourge. Not a pleasant weight along with someone else's random memories. Something they have in common.

But upon mention of the "right", he sort of rolls his eyes up and practically dribbles out of his chair in frustration. Half hanging out of it. ...Then the mongoose comes after him. His distraction dramatics are not going well for him today.]

[Wait. What? It takes everything he has to stop the indignant spluttering noises, because. Doctor. Don't make him think such... such strange things about his friend! They're just friends. That proposal wasn't meant seriously! ] What on Gallifrey gave you that idea?

[A pause while Omega folds his arms and gives him the eye. Though he spares the mongoose a glance.] Doctor? Should I call the infirmary? You appear to be having a fit.

Hey! [Harper looks suddenly cheery, and claps a hand against the side of his journal. Yes he's been backreading his own entries.] Mongoose! I wondered what happened to that little critter!

Feel free to come pick him up whenever you like!

And when you have time, I would like to discuss your inmate with you.

Who, Rex? Sorry to let you know, but uh, he's not my inmate anymore. Last I checked he'd been reassigned.

Your former inmate. But from what I remember of you, you wouldn't give up your property to god or Admiral.

So if you manage to recall him, I hope he's worth fighting for to you. I know he could use it.

Was he always, or was there a triggering incident? [This particular Doctor has a strong interest in mental welfare. It's why he talks to the inmates and generally troubled people so often.]
