[The Doctor faces the camera of his journal towards himself with a determined, serious expression. He holds up one finger.]

I've got quite a bit on my mind, and I'd prefer not to lose my temper... however-

[He turns it away, to show his TARDIS painted pink.]

I know the old girl wouldn't choose to do this to herself! Who's responsible?! Someone must be, because usually I can simply move into the vortex with her and when she returns her appearance is restored from whatever graffiti and defacement has occurred. This has been positively impossible to remove.

style credit might help.. maybe?
Aside from the odd clone, what other reason could there be? [He really should learn not to ask questions like that.]

Alien flower pollen. TARDIS giving birth. Hard knock to the head during a fight. Struck with a staser...

[The list can go on.]

Whoah, wait, back up a second. That thing can give birth? Suppose that explains why she's a she, but I don't even want to think about the mating process.

[...Except now he is. Dammit!]

I travelled with an android, once... she decided she liked him.

He was destroyed by my oldest enemy and I knew it wounded her after she tried so adamantly to protect him., so she grew an offspring, in a nursery, based off his construction and ability to mimic people.

There's nothing quite like happening upon an infant version of yourself in a room the TARDIS made by surprise.
