[He clicks on the feed to answer right away, but there's a sort of breathless pause first, and then something like a laugh.]

[He switches off the feed again and makes a break for it. He's up on the deck with the Izzy, but for this, the lab can wait a little longer. In minutes, man and dog both are crashing through the door, and then the feed clicks back on with a whoop.]

Holy shit, man! It's all-- it looks like home in here!

[It's a home he's not returning to, but that's not important right now. He's laughing, shocked somehow -- like even if he knew this was coming, it's still astonishing.

He even switches on the video so the Doctor can see, even though there's not much in there to speak of: it is, indeed, a bathroom, very new-looking, with spotless tile and an enormous and clearly recently-installed bathtub.]

I'm going to be leaving soon. And I know since Martha's departure, we've had a shortage of help.

I am leaving something, however. A small sensory deprivation chamber, approximately the size of a casket. Pardon my morbid comparison- but it should shield a psychic in distress.

[Narvin has mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, achieving deals is good, on the other hand, if the Doctor is leaving this outside-of-time place, there's a future waiting that Narvin doesn't want the Doctor to meet.]

I don't know yet. But my deal is that I would retain this regeneration and live it out to the end. My next incarnation will be moving on as normal, but I'm proud to say I have the chance to make mistakes that aren't already written for me.

[Tim has never been good about keeping in contact with people, he's lost contact with some of his best friends once they aren't in close quarters. It's not that he's forgetful or absent minded, it's that he has a tough time really being separated from people. Loss is a constant for him, so even if it doesn't have to be permanent, he has a way of making it so.

So this is kind of bittersweet, and he takes his time in responding.]
