What happened to you and what happened with Shego. Thankfully my line of questioning pushed those ideas to surface thoughts and I didn't have to dig any deeper.

Thus I'm encountering a dilemma. I don't want to have to do it again. So I need to know now to move on or if at least in a private setting he'll be honest with me. Otherwise I believe I have little hope of helping him. As it is, I'm still angry and it'll take some time.

Yes, I've spoken with Shego. And next, I'm speaking with Arthas. And hopefully greatly decreasing his chance of hurting anyone else which was interfered with the last time I had negotiated the attempt with him.

Jim will, like every other inmate, lie if it benefits him. Strength of character has to be established for him to be honest. Diving into his mind without consent doesn't demonstrate the qualities he admires enough to be honest in confrontation with-- he might even consider your abilities cheating. You should speak to him on the subject.

Don't do it again.

I've spoken Arthas down from pursuing me, so try to keep from undoing my efforts. He isn't exactly easy to dissuade once he's set on something. Neglect to mention me at all, if you can. Do speak to him, however-- his head isn't on straight. It's a little...crooked.

Honestly I don't want the risk there of doing it again. It's wrong and filthy and leaves a nasty residue that needs to be scrubbed off. It strips one's controls away and I hated every moment of it. Fortunately, we have the ability to delete our own memories. That's a good portion of why I was in the Zero room. Whatever was there is gone now. Just vague verbal knowledge.

Eddie, he doesn't lie when it benefits him. He lies all the time. And I can't abide by it.

The intention is to set his head straight. At least one matter here I can try to keep from repeating.

I must be becoming accustomed to his honesty.

The way he acts under the public eye may be, in part, the real Jim Profit. He isn't cruel for cruelties sake. Manipulative and an opportunist and his original life was predominantly focused on scaling the occupational ladder, but he enjoys a good conversation, he's pleasant to converse with, he indulges in literature and has numerous interests and hobbies. I suspect, even if his background was public knowledge, he would still be the pleasant individual he is right now.

It's rather tragic in the sense he's built himself around social expectation instead of experience. He doesn't really know any better. I have a difficult time calling it constant lying since it's essentially monkey see, monkey do, if you gather what I'm saying?

Now everything else, that would be lying to me, and it would be lies that benefit him. I don't believe he lies all the time.


And do what you will with Arthas.

Then you're a rare exception. But... unfortunately, I'm concerned I will no longer be able to reach him not that I've lost my temper. You are good for him, Edward. Make no mistake about that.

I can't continue being good for him. The task was never meant to be mine.
