It's been a long time since I've been well equipped to advise people in matters of love. I swore it off for the good of anyone I might become attached to. For the very good of the universe.

Besides the guilt. With the two of them, when you were around one or the other. Or did the guilt overwhelm anything else that you felt.

Someone else then. Surely you've known someone to have feelings for two different people. Even if you've destroyed all documented cases of you being young and stupid I'm sure that you've experience with people that have been.

I can imagine not. So the detriments, they weren't worth quietly being with both of them. Even if you weren't committed to either?

If you can get them to get along, indeed, to even care for each other, then one no longer needs to choose. [Threesomes are always the solution.]

There is the Greek tragedy Bernice calls her love life. The usual tactic there seems to be 'pair the spares,' as it were. If one of the trio can pair off with an outsider, it makes the choice much simpler.

I'll pass that along. The ah... particular subject I'm wishing to advise needs to be more adept at manipulation that doesn't involve technology to pull that off. [Making love instead of war is okay with him. Just as long as he doesn't have to be the one making it.]

Is it now? The last I knew of her was her marriage. I don't know much beyond that.

My first girlfriend caught me, uh - staring at another girl. So. Yeah, I'd say negative.

I wouldn't say that. Basically, I had a crush on one basically since I was a kid, but she was a little older than me and didn't return the feelings. A couple years later, I met this other girl, we fell in love, almost got married, but everything kind of fell apart and she broke it off. A while later, the other girl and I started dating, but Kory and I still worked together, and we were still friends. Sometimes it was sort of hard, because I'll always care about her, but she still brings up our history and sort of carries a torch, I just... don't really feel the same way? And didn't when I was with Barbara.

I'm not seeing either of them right now, but I'm still friends with both of them, and it can be a little awkward, but we're all mature enough to respect each other's feelings about the whole thing.

There was the matter with Adrian, and her divorce from Jason of course, Peter's birth, an assortment of bad choices in men, many of whom were in fact trying to kill her or use her for some sort of ancient artefact, and then there was Beverly and Bernice's absurd jealousy. It was truly not the sort of mess I was interested in involving myself in.

What sort of feelings? Comradery? Because I've had feelings for both Sarah and Harry-they're my friends.

That seems the unanimous thought. Did it interfere with your average relationships with them, even if you weren't involved?

The ah... stronger sort of feelings. The ones where you felt that magic from being around someone. [Physical stuff isn't as important as the magic part.]

So... you were, afterwards, able to reconcile and remain friends with both of them? Did it take a while?

...When did Beverly become involved and where? That's what I get for going and dying. I start kissing people and Beverly starts doing things and Bernice has children I'm not even aware of.

... Sort of. The relationships didn't actually overlap, so there was a lot of time in between, but I wasn't not speaking to one or both of them after the romantic part of the relationship was over.

That actually depends on there being an 'average relationship', actually.
