I do have permission to announce this on the Marquis's behalf.

The Marquis has several broken ribs, internal bruising, a concussion, and ligament damage that I don't know that we can properly heal without months of careful surgery, and perhaps in the process extensive physical therapy. Much of the technology here is helpful in aiding him but any recovery from this much damage will take a while. His advanced age doesn't help matters.

The damage he has suffered will take longer than a year to completely recover from, if he does not return home at some point. In his time, there will be no medical knowledge capable in assisting in rehabilitation.

[It takes all of his might /all of his might/ to make a practical statement without cursing the excessive use of violence. But he refrains.] He is obviously able to talk at the moment... and write at great length... so any questions about the incident specifically should be fielded through him. [So hard not to preach. So hard.

Luckily he cuts the feed before he can finish muttering something about human violence.]

[Private to anyone that knows Jim Profit]

As it is more than likely my inmate will lie to me, I need to know about any contact or conversations you may have had with him during and since the flood.

Do you know if Sexby's still a warden?

[He sounds tired, but it's still obviously him, telling jokes]

These remarks and others are beginning to make me wonder if perhaps this would matter little if I were just a decade or two younger.

If I'd done this to a warden, everyone would be shouting for me to be put in a cage. Some would suggest I be thrown overboard. At the very least, I'd be taken to Zero. All I did was blind my warden temporarily, and I was locked away--while Sexby, who caused nearly irreparable damage to someone, is walking around a free man.

Isn't it funny, the way certain people are allowed to get away with things like this?

Oh for the love of -- Will somebody please take my husband down to zero? I have no idea why you've all waited this long.

Surely he is in his cabin now, and he'll not resist you. Go. Go before you make his wife do it.

And we were just talking about mess like this. Guess we get to try out this whole justice system they were going on about.

Is the Admiral incapable of intervention? If so, there's the option of unconventional medications or an impermanent death.

As for Jim, I have a few questions of my own, first.

[He is...horribly interested by this. D:]

When's that Sexby bloke going to get out of Zero?

I think I know what you're thinking, partially because you're me and partially because I felt the same thing when everybody blamed my future self for the Coyolxahqui incident.

Sexby is a human. And, even though he is a warden, I feel this ship drives wardens as mad as it does inmates. He's trapped in this prison as well, with nothing to do but redeem an inmate and dwell on his emotions-and you know how horrible humans are when dealing with emotions.

What of... magical means to assist in the Marquis' recovery?

When I was speaking of warden infractions, I didn't expect anyone to take it as an invitation to try it.

[ There's a long pause. ]

Technology from my world might be able to help with his treatment.

This is most horrific. What inmate has done this thing?
