He's hesitant because he knows what's been going on, and there's some potentially terrible things that he could be admitting about himself right now. So he's going to try really hard not to!] Harper! This is actually your pet. I'm duty bound to return it to you... I have no idea what it's name is.

[And a pause. Okay! Let's go with-] I know how to play the spoons!

[Really?

That's it?

He sighs in relief.] I was worried for a moment that I was going to say something considerably worse! [He ignores the mongoose considering a voyage down his pullover.] Such as the fact I know I'm the most problematic, repugnant, and unpleasant of the lot of me and I'd been better off not even having gone through this regeneration.

[Wait.] Ignore that bit. [He makes a pissy huff and cuts the feed.]

It's a daily activity. I'd get bored if I didn't. Besides, the mongoose is going to nest in my clothes soon if I don't dispatch it promptly.

I also have a talent for juggling, and the former is rarely as useful as the latter. [He distracts himself pretty well sometimes, too.]

If you want a chance to demonstrate a skill it's easy enough to make one. [And he pulls three cans of tuna out of his pocket- these cans were important at some point. Maybe. Anyway, he gives Bruce a juggling demonstration.]

[He and the Joker had fantastic conversations. What actually is impressive is that when he stops, he catches the cans in a neat stack rather than letting them clatter.]

Was he always, or was there a triggering incident? [This particular Doctor has a strong interest in mental welfare. It's why he talks to the inmates and generally troubled people so often.]

I refuse to adhere to the idea that something is anyone's fault unless the intent to do harm was there. I sincerely doubt, even from what little I know, that this was the case.

But Jason... probably wouldn't agree with these sentiments, would he?

Understandable. He had an incident with the Joker, after the Joker attacked his paramour. That was one matter, but I'm well aware Tim's capable of losing his temper.

What happened?

He attacked him in his cell, broke his arm. I had to choose his punishment. The Joker vanished off the Barge even before Tim was through with his time in Zero. It was an altogether miserable situation.

... Hh. They both got off easy. [ For their standards, anyway. ]

Do inmates come back often after they've vanished?

They do occasionally. Not often. The Joker had been here once before, but the one I knew might have been from a different timeline as he didn't ever recall the previous events.

No. But if he did, at least the one that remembered me, I'd request to take responsibility for him again.

He was reasonably frightened of me. At least I kept him from too many major incidents.
