[He appears on the screen, holding a squirmy mongoose. That terrible jester marionette of his? Still sitting on the back of his couch. He's hesitant because he knows what's been going on, and there's some potentially terrible things that he could be admitting about himself right now. So he's going to try really hard not to!] Harper! This is actually your pet. I'm duty bound to return it to you... I have no idea what it's name is.

[And a pause. Okay! Let's go with-] I know how to play the spoons!

[Really?

That's it?

He sighs in relief.] I was worried for a moment that I was going to say something considerably worse! [He ignores the mongoose considering a voyage down his pullover.] Such as the fact I know I'm the most problematic, repugnant, and unpleasant of the lot of me and I'd been better off not even having gone through this regeneration.

[Wait.] Ignore that bit. [He makes a pissy huff and cuts the feed.]

Maybe he knows the reason I want to help people. And I try harder on individuals than I've ever tried before. I'm surprised that I wasn't an inmate, in some cases.

...You know, not everyone has the opportunity to be with someone they cared about long ago.

[Guardedly.] Right.

[This Doctor's complex nearly got him devoured by the Scourge. Not a pleasant weight along with someone else's random memories. Something they have in common.

But upon mention of the "right", he sort of rolls his eyes up and practically dribbles out of his chair in frustration. Half hanging out of it. ...Then the mongoose comes after him. His distraction dramatics are not going well for him today.]

[A pause while Omega folds his arms and gives him the eye. Though he spares the mongoose a glance.] Doctor? Should I call the infirmary? You appear to be having a fit.

I'll recover. [But he doesn't move. Laying there off camera. And after a moment, Omega gets a screen full of mongoose.

He climbs back up after a moment and tries to tidy himself, as seen around the edges of investigating weaselish head.] I believe... Lord Rassilon might be feeling a little lonely.

[Omega watches the creature.] I spend time with him, I talk, I don't talk, I take care of him. Beyond that is none of your concern, Doctor.

Doctor, what do you hope to achieve by 'setting us up'? His redemption won't be served by it.

[Omega's jaw tightens at this news. Rassilon, why do you make his life so hard?] Whether I care for him that way or not, my acting on it, is a decidedly bad idea.

[Omega doesn't really want to talk about this, so his tone is detached.] Are you sure his motives are sufficient for you to respond to his interest in a positive manner? I ask, because he insists that I am the only friend he'll ever need, so as a physical companion, I doubt there would be much emphasis on 'companion'.

[He shrugs lightly.] I'm not certain yet. [Because there's that damnable voice in the back of his head saying that it might be a good idea, and besides, it's not as if this particular body would garner interest from anyone else.]

But your position is understandable. Especially being the warden of my brother, who abhors him. It's a conflict of interest. I do appreciate the candour, though.
