He sighs in relief.] I was worried for a moment that I was going to say something considerably worse! [He ignores the mongoose considering a voyage down his pullover.] Such as the fact I know I'm the most problematic, repugnant, and unpleasant of the lot of me and I'd been better off not even having gone through this regeneration.

No. I suppose not. [He sounds disappointed. Maybe because he knows he's considering it. He's not a sexual person. The entire concept of attachment that comes with it terrifies him, because he knows that he would become attached. But other than the Angvian woman no one would ever make this offer to him again.

Plus there's this terrible little part of his mind telling him to do it. That in this case, the manipulative edge would be worth. That he could turn the tides of history if he just let go.

It's more than intuition. But it's something you would have to be patient for. Though, I suspect, your patience is running thin. Whichever is the case, I will still bring that bottle with me the next time I come by.
