[Have a screen full of Doctor, who looks like he just blindly turned on the journal to video and didn't care about the setting. Collar is loose-ish, tie is hanging around his shoulders, his blazer isn't on and he's rubbing his eye as if he has a headache. Eyes are squinted tightly shut.]

My inmate murdered William Cooper with a plant toxin. I'll be remanding her to Zero after I speak with her. [Wince.] The method of dispersement was through a spray bottle. I'm going to tend to the matter. [And he blindly sort of flail-clicks off his journal.]

What kinda toxin?

It was from her collection of prehistoric plants. I'll be taking them to the greenhouse where her activities with them will be monitored. [He clears his throat.] I'll have an anti-toxin made for the infirmary in the event of any more incidents, should some of the leaves have gotten out.

Probably not a bad idea, guy. That gonna be fast enough to help if someone else gets sprayed or whatever?

It should work immediately. Wardens might want to notify their inmates if they're experiencing trouble breathing to rush to the infirmary. Not that they shouldn't anyway, but some inmates tend to be stubborn.

That don't shock me. You know how Cooper's doin'?

His warden took him into his custody with infirmary check-ins. But the last check he was recovering.

What have you been doing? [Pod-person? Doesn't sound like it, but the message was very brief, and right now anything out of the ordinary has Narvin on edge.]

Me? Preparing to speak with my inmate. [He thinks the hangover thing should be fairly obvious.] And I had a bottle of Gallifreyan wine while keeping Lord Rassilon company. [Baaaaw. Headache.]

The whole bottle? No, nevermind, I don't want to hear anything about your evening.

[Like Una earlier, this seems like perfectly normal drunken hangoverness, not pod-person virus.]

Thank you. [He rubs his other eye and winces.] You're quite forcefully concerned today.

No more forcefully than usual. [At least he's not going into a high pitched histrionic rant about DISASTER ON THE HORIZON.]

[The Doctor would probably stare at him.] At least I didn't tell everyone my inner woes while I was drunk. [The flood confessional was bad enough.]

Those plants are going to hate me.

She'll be returning soon. She did it because her room was broken into. Taking her plants away altogether would be cruel. Just don't allow her to leave with a spray bottle or anything similar for a while.

I will watch her especially closely. That should not be hard. She's my only worker. I miss Miss Rose with a passion.

And one concern, this was from her personal collection, yes? She didn't get them out past me before? I know some people have tried to pilfer plants from the public garden before, but I try to keep everything even vaguely dangerous locked in the greenhouse.

I am sorry you have to work in the Infirmary right now. Martha will appreciate the help, I'm sure.

I would love to talk to her when she feels up to it. And do pass on how much I appreciate her dedication to the health and well-being of our plants on board.

Please take the time to do so yourself. She could use a reminder that not all humans are beneath her and appreciate her small kindnesses.

I am still not so certain she still likes me anymore. Cares yes. That's how she is, but I try not to get away.

I gave him a chance, he chose not to take it.

I believe I deserved a chance as well. To defend you.

All that would have happened was that I would have appeared weak and he would have received a slap on the wrist as it were.

You would have appeared weak in that you felt you didn't protect your plants or you didn't personally avenge them?

That I would have depended on someone else.

Would you have allowed me to do you the favour then? The slap on the wrist that I could have delivered him would have been extremely terrifying, and a firm reminder not to deal with forces beyond his control. Though without the necessity of murder.

I doubt his warden agreed with his behavior. He sounded extremely upset by it when I spoke with him. [He also had a worse headache then, too, so he says that with a note of, "Oh the agony."]

Mortals do not learn well, Doctor.

And you are being overly dramatic.

The goddess is telling me I'm being overly dramatic?
