[There's a strange man in Time Lord robes roaming the halls. He's been watching conversations and following along, taking in what's happening. But he doesn't want to intrude. He knows that for some reason that he shouldn't.

However, more than one psychic presence has coaxed him out of his room, away from the irritated TARDIS that's very familiar to him (she doesn't like this psychic aggression, she doesn't like it at all). And now he's trying to keep track of where the most damage is.]

[He can't shake the feeling of familiarity, and he's relying on it, perhaps unwisely, to be as helpful as he hopes.] She did appear to be more emotional than any TARDIS that I've ever encountered. I'm more concerned about the threatening presence, but if you can talk to her we might be able to single out what the source is.

[He starts to lead him back to Seven's room.]

[The Doctor follows, careful not to show just how excited he is at the prospect of leaving.] I certainly do have a way with TARDISes. Hopefully we can figure this out.

[He opens the door to "John Smith's room, which looks much like the console room with a TARDIS inside of it.]

Do you? If you're ahead of my time you oughtn't tell me too much then. [It's still so strange that he's not being recognized. Oh well...]

[The Doctor's eyes lit up as he saw the TARDIS. His TARDIS. Smiling to himself, he ran up to the machine, patted it slightly, then looked back at the man. He had a strange idea that he knew who this Time Lord was. Still, founder of Time Lord society or not, the Doctor would not let him get in the way. Besides, there was no need to let the Other (if that was who he was) know that the Doctor had an idea about his identity yet. He would try bluffing slightly but he was ready to use physical force if needed.]

Do you have the key with you? I might have a copy in my pockets somewhere, assuming this idiot of an Admiral didn't take it away from me...though I warn you, it might be slightly dangerous when I enter and try to calm her down-you might want to leave then.

[The Doctor started to rummage in his pockets, trying to find the TARDIS key.]

How would it be dangerous unless she didn't like you?

[The man looks at him bluntly, but is noting the Doctor is rifling through his pockets like he should have a key.]

No. I'm afraid not. The most I could find was an umbrella. [And he points over to where that thing is at.]

[He had to have his TARDIS key in here with him...pulling it out of his pocket, the Doctor smiled as he started to unlock the door.]

Oh, you never know with these things. Besides, trouble seems to follow me around. Now, I'm sorry about this Other, but I'm going to have to leave you here while I escape. Tah-tah!

[The Doctor started to enter the TARDIS, with the intent of closing the door on the Other's face.]

I'm sorry about this who? [He's never heard himself called the Other before, and he's about to say something but WAIT ESCAPING IS BAD!

He grabs for the door.] You would rather run than suss out a threat? What kind of Time Lord are you? [Says the man that will eventually throw himself into the looms.]

I'm one who wants to get out of this damned boat! Now let go and let me leave!

[The Doctor tried to yank the door away, glaring at the Other.]

But you oughtn't-

[He's cut short, because he's distracted? Why? Not often is an animal that scuttles seen leaping from a TARDIS console. One would imagine he was defending the interest of his owner.

He actually was thinking what fantastic nesting material he would have if he could capture that creature's hair.

The Doctor would find himself quickly receiving a new hairdo. Many apologies. And were it's leap not so enthusiastic, it might have not pushed a lever by happy accident and grounded the machine as it just did.]

[The Doctor paid no attention to the mongoose as it started to scuttle from the TARDIS console. He only noticed the creature as it landed smack dab in his hair. To his credit, the Doctor didn't scream, but he let out a small yelp of surprise and tried to brush the animal off of his head.]

Get this off of me!

[The mongoose clung tighter, not really wanting to let go.]

[At least now he could get the door open! But he does at least make more of an effort to dislodge the animal from the Doctor's head, rather than try to apprehend him. One he's plied at it's little paws, it slides down the back of the Doctor's coat and quickly skitters out the door of the console room.]

Are you alright? [First thing's first.]

[The Doctor let out a small yelp as the animal slid down his coat and skittered into the console room. His escape could wait, he needed to figure out just what that tiny little demonic creature was. The Doctor started to pat his head, seeing if the mongoose had scratched him anywhere.]

What was that?

Something like the longest Vex I've ever seen... [He stares after it, putting a hand over his mouth. But then-]

You can't take your ship when you're out of temporal sink with it! It'll attempt to align with you and make contact with another version of itself and create a black hole to rival the Neverending Mountains! You're in such a rush you're going to destroy yourself and potentially a good number of people, depending on where you last parked.

[He can tell it's the Doctor's TARDIS (the key), but also out of his timeframe.] ...But she does still need soothing.

[The Doctor scowled, looking at the Other. As much as he hated to admit it, the man had a point. It was a good idea in theory, but this wasn't his TARDIS. While he wanted to get out of here, he wanted to get out of here in one piece.]

Temporal sink or not, she's still my TARDIS. Soothing it is. [He placed a hand on the TARDIS exterior, stroked it slightly, and looked at the ship] I'm sorry about this old girl, I really wish I could make this buffoon vanish and get your proper owner back.
